3 Reasons Why I Chose DBU for My Master’s

Over the last few weeks, along with the busyness of the holidays and preparing for our first child (due in May), I have been finishing up my Master’s degree in Children’s Ministry at Dallas Baptist University. If you have ever thought about going back to school or continuing your education and are interested in children’s ministry, here are 3 reasons why I chose DBU as my Alma Mater.

1. Very solid education.

DBU’s course work is fantastic! Classes in children’s ministry cover all ages, from preschool to preteen. They not only teach you relevant information about the children’s ministry world but they teach you timeless truths that would apply for any generation of ministry.

2. Everything is online.

This was a HUGE factor for me. Being in ministry already, I was very limited on where I could attend school. I knew I wanted a degree in children’s ministry but had a difficult time finding a school that offered a children’s ministry program online. DBU was the ONLY school I could find that lined up with my beliefs and offered a children’s ministry program ENTIRELY online. Sure there are others that offer a hybrid program (some online and some on campus), but I was not able to sacrifice weeks of the year to travel across the country for school. DBU’s program was extremely convenient for this reason.

3. The faculty is great.

The faculty is very knowledgeable about children’s ministry and is always willing to help, in any circumstance. Aside from being friendly, they understand the hectic schedules of people who are in ministry and are always willing to assist in any way possible.

So if you have thought about going back to school for children’s ministry but aren’t sure if you could commute for classes, visit DBU’s website and sign up to receive some information! I honestly think you will love your experience as much as I did.

Do you recommend any particular school or program for children’s ministry? If so, leave your thoughts and comments in the comment section!
